fasu is ill

Chickitty 4 Fantastic Father (Fasu) has become ill.

on thursday night we rushed him to the vet.

at first we thought it was normal Phneumonia.

but then we found out that this boy has only 30% ability of his lungs and were battling to breathe, because there was no space to pull oxygen into his lungs.

X rays showed his lungs filled with a lot of fluid. This totally freaked me out and the vet told me he has a 10% of surviving the weekend.

Well, he went back yesterday where he spent the whole day with the vet.

on thursday night we drew 100 ml of fluid of his lungs

on friday the vet took out another 100ml

tonight i took out aobout 60ml

he is on cortizone and also on baytril injections in the moring and sinulox in the evening.

we also give him a pill to make him hungry.

at this moment in time i am hand feeding him.

one good thing is that he went to the toilet by himself tonight and also washed himself.

he is very weak but we sure he is just not eating enuf.

breathing is still very shallow but it has grown less rapid

we assume he either has

a lymph node defect

or

pyothorax (infection of the lung cavity)

or

chyme

awaiting blood tests and we will tell you more

if it was not for my friend Roelien Coetzer i am sure fasu will not be here tonight.

she provided me a while ago with cortizone, sinulox and other needed meds. i am forever gratefull to her and she really is fantastic as a friend
