we received our little girl from the Cape

Taldi Dame Delta (Supreme Champion)

Klarissa is one of those girls that just takes your breath away.

we thank Ronnie Gerber (ikins) and Taldi's Johan and Ian who was so kind enough to agree that we may have one of the FIRST Hermes babies.

we can not be more happy and grateful for a cat than for her.

Mistbesque Fasu was born on the 28th of September 2009 at mistbesque cattery and he will continue his father's legend and receive all our love. he was quite a surprise baby as his mom did not look pregnant at all when we left on holiday. it must be because he was a miracle!

two regional qualiers in one fantastic day

The Regional Qualifiers attended the Gauteng Invitational

only the best cats who competed for the show season 2008/9 were invited

we were privledged to have a few cats who qualified but in the end we only took 6
3 x cornish rex
3 x oriental/siamese

our black Oriental boy Grand Champion Mistbesque Grienson won the side class for Shorthair Group II - best body conformation
our black Cornish Rex Girl Supreme Champion Mistbesque Bast Dark Moon Symphoney won best Shorthair Group I sideclass for best Body Conformation

Best of all..
when we realized that we had two cornish rex girls qualifying for the top 10 finalists in adult catagory

first was announced that Little dainty high on the legs Supreme Champion Mistbesque Dark Moon Symphoney may now add RQ to her name as she landed in 10th place. How trhilled are we that our dear sister cattery Bast (anita els) allowed us to have "moon" in our house. Moon also received a award about 1 year ago from Judge Ngaio Crawly. it was a award to her as a representative of her breed and our cattery for the work done to better the cornish rex cats of southern africa. i was very honoured and privledged to share this with Anita and also with my mentor and friend Agnieszka Solomon of Conqueror Cattery.

next it was our 6th best Adult for the show season and proudly owned by us

Suprme Champion Sweetpurr's Ceylon Gardens of Mistbesque who also now may Add RQ to her name. "demi" was imported from Finland and was bred by friend Harri Saari who promised us that this girl will steal our heart in more than one way... and she just did so.

Demi and Moon will now take a break from showing and produce the next generation of show stoppers... who have HUGE SHOES TO FILL...

Fasu passed on

fasu just passed away. he was diagnosed with Chyme and was on a fat free diet.

my vet said we can try all we can and hopefully he will live, but his chances were dim.

his eyes went cold this morning and i knew the inevetable was a reality.

i am sitting here and crying my eyes out.

i loved two Oriental boys with all my heart.

Fasu and Rave. when i went outside now while crying i walked into raves run

rave came to sit with me and started licking my tears. like he wanted to say to me mommy dont cry, fasu is ok, he is with apollo.

my heart is shattered and i my head is thinking how i could have made it better for him.

he died in my arms and he was so peacefull

i really dont know what to write but to just put it frankly MY BOY HAS DIED. I AM CRYING AND CRYING AND DONT KNOW WHEN IT WILL STOP.

MY HEART HAS NO JOY I MISS MY CINNAMON BOY!

nothing can replace fasu or his loving purts and purrs................

bye bye my sweet loving boy..................................................... fasu i miss you!

new boy on the block and he is 10 years old

Hello Cat Buddies and fellow breeders,

Tonight we are very glad to welcome a new boy in our house!!!

Although new to us, this boy has been around for some time. Being ten years old makes him a veteran but very much so a “new line” to our breeding program.

Saying so means the following.

Because he is so far behind in generations (+/- 18 generations for every 9 months over 10 years) he is a total outcross for today’s cats especially the ones in our breeding program..

Samoa Gems Yski has arrived. As far as we can see his pedigree is a clear 6 generations of Siamese (no oriental)!

His sire is: Ashok van Athalia bred by J Vallinga and imported from the Netherlands!
His dam is: Applejack Lamma Tara bred by Mrs D Clarke back in the 1990’s and imported from the UK!

We humbly thank Eurica & Rudi Teichman for allowing us to have this boy on loan, as I know they did this to better the breed which we all know is our passion to preserve.

We are confident that he can only bring joy to our breeding as he is a true arrival of TEMPERAMENT, HEALTH and TYPE representing his breed in all aspects!

fasu and i are going through a lot.

i am draining his lungs now every afternoon.

he has started eating again but he is eating very very little

he also started drinking water which is very good as he is a bit deydrated.

he usually weights around 6kg

and now weights like 1 - 1 &1/2 kg's

i am sure he will get better

the attached photo of fasu was not even taken two weeks ago. who would have said we would land up with him here where we are now

fasu is ill

Chickitty 4 Fantastic Father (Fasu) has become ill.

on thursday night we rushed him to the vet.

at first we thought it was normal Phneumonia.

but then we found out that this boy has only 30% ability of his lungs and were battling to breathe, because there was no space to pull oxygen into his lungs.

X rays showed his lungs filled with a lot of fluid. This totally freaked me out and the vet told me he has a 10% of surviving the weekend.

Well, he went back yesterday where he spent the whole day with the vet.

on thursday night we drew 100 ml of fluid of his lungs

on friday the vet took out another 100ml

tonight i took out aobout 60ml

he is on cortizone and also on baytril injections in the moring and sinulox in the evening.

we also give him a pill to make him hungry.

at this moment in time i am hand feeding him.

one good thing is that he went to the toilet by himself tonight and also washed himself.

he is very weak but we sure he is just not eating enuf.

breathing is still very shallow but it has grown less rapid

we assume he either has

a lymph node defect

pyothorax (infection of the lung cavity)

chyme

awaiting blood tests and we will tell you more

if it was not for my friend Roelien Coetzer i am sure fasu will not be here tonight.

she provided me a while ago with cortizone, sinulox and other needed meds. i am forever gratefull to her and she really is fantastic as a friend

well it has happned and we witnessed 4 matings this morning before work.

templeton is very satisfied that he is doing the right thing

i dont know if secret affair wants to have this affair but it seems like she is playing along for the ride.
